Christian Ministries Center

Our Christian Ministries Center, is located at 16995 Walden Pond Road, in Brookwood, AL., it is in the Associational building, and is open from 9:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, except for legal Holidays. We take referrals from churches, church members, and social agencies. Walk-in clients are welcome and while we do take appointments, you do not have to have an appointment to be served as long as we do not reach our daily service limit of 15 clients. If you decide to walk-in please come if at all possible before 12:00 noon. It takes about an hour to service each client. (Clients for food, will need a picture ID, Social Security numbers for all family members, and proof of income to be eligible for food from the food bank.) Referral pages have been sent to pastors in e-mail for printing, as well as can be picked up in quantities from the CMC. Please note, no cash is ever kept on the premises, and we can not offer help with Utilities, Rent, Gasoline, or other bills, as we do not have cash resources on hand. For possible help with the items listed in red, you might try to phone #211, which is manned by United Way of West Alabama, they might be able to refer you to someone who could help with Utilities, etc...

We will need these items from our churches on an ongoing basis: Cereal, Pasta items, Rice, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Oatmeal, Macaroni and Cheese. Toiletries, Tooth Brushes, Mayonnaise, Grits, Self-rising Flour, Dishwashing detergent, Cleaning Products, Self-rising Cornmeal, Sugar, Laundry Detergent/Cleaning Products, and Diapers. Maybe your church wants to pick out a few items like; Peanut Butter & Jelly, and either bring them to your volunteers or bring them to the Assn. Office, on a regular basis. Maybe your youth want to collect canned goods once a quarter or there are other numerous ways to help. If you have questions, just give us a call at the number listed above.

We will also accept clean, new, or like new, clothing, shoes, towels, washclothes, blankets, sheets & pillowcases . For back to school, we are taking cash or check donations for new shoes for boys and girls, so that no child will have to be embarrassed about having no shoes to wear. We want to offer new shoes for those children that need them. Can you help?
